BMF Founders Sentenced to 30 Years In Prison
Brothers Demetrius “Big Meech” and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory were sentenced yesterday (September 12) to 30 years in prison, for running the cocaine organization known as The Black Mafia Family.
Demetrius and Terry were apprehended in 2005 and indicted under the CCE (Continuing Criminal Enterprise) law, which like RICO charges carry life sentences.
Under the federal prison system, there is no parole option.
Seeking to avoid spending the rest of their natural lives in prison, the brothers pleaded guilty in November 2007 to the CCE charges and laundering drug money in hopes of serving the minimum 20 year sentence.
However, evidence presented by prosecutors resulted in 30 year sentences for both men. BMF was founded by the brothers in Detroit during the late 1980s.
After quickly securing valuable contacts with international coke suppliers, the organization grew to a nationwide criminal conspiracy within a few years.
The group began to draw unwanted attention from federal agents in 2003 once they established a high-profile operation in Atlanta, where they erected billboards, held lavish parties, created DVDs, and boasted of their connections with rappers Young Jeezy and Fabolous.
Also notable in the organization’s downfall was Meech’s involvement in a brazen 2003 shootout in the Buckhead nightclub section of Atlanta that left two men dead, including Sean “Diddy” Combs’ bodyguard Anthony “Wolf” Jones.
In 2005, agents raided several key BMF operations in Georgia, Michigan, Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, Missouri, and California.
To date, those raids have resulted in over 150 indictments of BMF members or associates, effectively dismantling the drug empire.
According to authorities, these convictions of BMF’s top members end a 15 year investigation into the Black Mafia Family’s criminal enterprise.
At their peak, Demetrius (age 40) and Terry (age 38) Flenory are estimated to have controlled a cocaine empire worth $270 million.

Lil Wayne's Lawyer Accuses Police of Illegal Search
According to Richman, who has also defended DMX, Busta Rhymes and Ja Rule, Hornung was several blocks away assisting another officer with an unrelated arrest of Rule on similar charges. The validity of the charge hinges upon Hornung's testimony that smelling marijuana smoke justified her entrance on Wayne's tour bus. Upon entering the bus, Hornung allegedly found a loaded 9-mm. handgun inside a Louis Vuitton handbag.
Earlier this year Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Carter, became the first artist to sell over 1 million copies of an album in a single week since 50 Cent performed a similar feat in 2005 with The Massacre. If the gun possession charge holds up Wayne faces a mandatory minimum jail sentence of three years and six months in jail.
US Soldier Dishonorably Discharged For Hip Hop
One of Malone’s sergeants burned his nine year collection of Hip Hop magazines after a heated argument. Malone’s reaction earned him a discharge for dishonorable conduct.
At the time, Malone had served three years which included a stint in Korea and service after the attacks of September 11.
Not taking the discharge lying down, Malone—who goes by the alias Muggsy Malone—hit the studio with Conrad Dimanche of Bad Boy Records/Making the Band. The resulting effort is an album titled Probable Cause, which he is dedicating to the military.
Malone has remained active since his military days and is a volunteer for the Barack Obama campaign in addition to his duties as an emcee, signed to Warpath Records.
In addition to Probable Cause, which is slated for release in March 2009, Malone is also prepping a reality show scheduled to air on Myspace, titled The Making of the Next Big Thing.

Rain Presents “The 7 Day Theory” Day 1
“Tupac is still a big inspiration to me. He always spoke his mind on all issues whether it was music, politics, or regular street shit. He overcame so many obstacles right in front of our eyes and made history in the entertainment industry without losing his mind or his spirit. I created this mixtape to pay homage and show my respect for my black brother. He will always live on through his music and his family and we need to remember the day of his death no different from how we remember Martin Luther King, Malcom X and all of our other black leaders. He was the leader of our generation. This mixtape consist of my views and my opinions on things that are going on. I am not in no way trying to emulate Tupac, I’m only paying homage.”
As a pioneer in the rise of the West Coast in the 90’s, 2pac made an impact on alot of peoples lives. The homie Rain will be paying his respects.. dropping a freestyle a day, leading up to the anniversary of Tupacs death & as a tribute to his life and his music. On day 1, he’s Troublesome.
